Wire Work Necklace

On a whim I made this Bubble necklace. Not sure exactly what I was going to do, but knowing that I wanted to make something simple, sterling and unique. I really like how it turned out.

Fun with Photos

Taking pictures of my handcrafteed jewels has been a major challenge for me. Finding the right light. An interesting angle. Trying out different backgrounds. Lots of things to think about when getting ready to take some pics.
Last year I got my Nikon L100 on sale at Costco. One of the greatest purchases I have made.

Here I play around with all of the above.

Playing around in the studio

Here are a few pics of a recent night of creating. I love when the ideas flow.... it was one of those nights... a great night. I even took out a few beads that I had been waiting over a year to use. I hope you enjoy.

Fun with Precious Metal Clay (PMC)

I am always getting asked... What is Precious Metal Clay?????

Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is basically a clay-like substance that when fired in a kiln or with a torch becomes dense like metal. Though most people (like me) use the fine silver form, metal clay is also available in copper, bronze and 22K gold.

I love playing around with this clay. Making charms for earrings, necklaces, well.... just about anything. Brings me back to my days of pottery in high school. But now I get to mix it in with my love of creating jewels.

Above are a pair of earring I created using PMC.

beads. beads.. and yes, more beads...

I love Czech glass! It's fun, different and yes, even natural looking. My favorite glass beads are the ethereal coins I use for my Luminous Dangles.... my most popular pair of earrings. Shopping for Czech Glass is so much fun. My favorite vendor is at a local bead show here in Denver. They always have an amazing and diverse collection. Lots of new styles this year. Soon to be debuted in some Shimmer and Fizz designs.

Earrings

I love making jewelry.... but my all time favorite is making earrings. I admit it. Earrings are an addiction of mine. Pretty much anytime I sit down to create... I end up with an extra pair for myself. Imagine that. My good friends also feel the love of my addiction. They are pretty much smothered in my little creations.
